What you get

  • State-specific mock exams

Practice exams written for your state, using the question count and pass mark your state publishes. When we could not confirm a number, the app says so.

  • A readiness score

A score built from your recent practice that shows what to study next. It is a practice measure, not a prediction of your result.

  • Road sign trainer

Learn the shapes, colors and meanings of US road signs. Road sign practice is free, in full.

  • Explanations for every question

Each answer comes with a plain explanation and the handbook or vehicle-code section it is based on.

  • Send progress to a parent

Share a one-page progress report as a picture, through Messages, Mail or AirDrop. It works across phones, and there is no account to make.

  • One-time passes

Pay once. No subscription and no auto-renewal. Nothing renews behind your back.

States with their own questions

These 23 states have a question set written for them, based on each state’s driver handbook and vehicle code. Pick one to see what we know about its test.

More states are coming. You can pick any state in the app. States without their own questions yet use the road rules and sign questions every state shares.

Road signs and what they mean

Every road sign Permito teaches, from Stop and Yield to work zone and railroad signs, with its name and what it tells a driver. Open a group to see how its signs look alike.

How it works

  1. Pick your state

Tell Permito your state and, if you have one, your test date.

  2. Practice a little each day

Short sessions, mock exams and a review queue that brings back what you missed.

  3. Check your readiness

Watch your score and topics. Take the test when you feel ready, not before.

Free to start. Pay once if you want more.

Prices shown are US prices. The App Store shows the final price before you pay.
