Common questions

How do I restore my purchases?

Open the app, go to Settings, then Purchases, then Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account (or Google account) you bought with. The Restore purchases link on the pass screen does the same thing. If nothing is found, email us from Contact us in Settings.

What is the Family Pass?

It is a one-time purchase that unlocks every state and never expires. On iPhone, Apple Family Sharing shares it with your family: each person uses it on their own iPhone, by opening Permito and tapping Restore purchases. On Android it works for the Google account that bought it, because Google Play does not share in-app purchases with a family. The Week Pass and Permit Pass cannot be shared this way.

A question looks wrong. What do I do?

On the question, tap Report. That opens Report a problem, where you choose the kind of problem and add a note. The app saves the report on your phone and opens an email with the question number and your state. Or email us at support@permito.app. We check every report against the handbook and vehicle code.

How do I reset my progress or delete my data?

In the app, go to Settings, then Your data, then Reset progress. That removes your answers, reviews, mock exam results, bookmarks and streak, and keeps your profile, settings and purchases. To delete the device ID and purchase record we keep, email us. The privacy page explains what is stored.

Is Permito available in Spanish?

Yes. The app and the questions are in English and Spanish. Open Settings, then Language, to change the app language, and turn on Show both languages to see English and Spanish together. Check your state agency to see which languages your state’s knowledge test is offered in.

Are these questions from the state test?

No. Permito is practice based on your state’s driver handbook and vehicle code. It is not the state test, and the questions are not from it. Mock exams follow your state’s published format, and a practice result is not an official score.

Is my state included?

23 states have their own question sets, listed on the permit test page. Other states can use the shared road rules and sign questions while their own are on the way.

Does it need internet?

Practice, mock exams and review work offline. You need a connection to buy a pass and to open links to state sites.

Is there a subscription?

No. Every pass is a one-time purchase through Apple or Google. Nothing renews. Refunds go through the store; see the terms.
